Sugarloaf is a mountain biking route on Bureau of Land Management land in the Burley Field Office of southern Idaho, about 3 miles from the town of Burley. The climb is an out-and-back with a total gain of about 837 feet over roughly 5.8 miles, and the high point sits at about 4,945 feet. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch around 1.7 miles in, where the grade reaches about 12 percent. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall stand out. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Twin Falls show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 76°F, while July averages climb to about 88°F. That station sits roughly 800 feet below the route, so expect temperatures on the trail to run a bit cooler. The ride starts close to the Sweet n' Low and Swami routes, both about a tenth of a mile away, with Backdoor and Jummi within about a mile. Rock Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 1.6 miles off, and Schipper Campground is roughly 8 miles away.
