Wet Gulch is an easy out-and-back hike in the Idaho City Ranger District of Boise National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 2.3 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 981 feet, starting at a low point of about 6,135 feet and reaching a high of about 7,123 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Deadwood Lodge weather station put July highs around 82°F and lows near 40°F. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The trail is natural-surfaced, and it allows both bikes and horses. Grimes Creek lies about 1.2 miles away. Pine Flats Campground and the Coulter Summit hike are each about 5 miles off.
