Anderson Creek is an out-and-back hike in Idaho's Boise National Forest, within the Emmett Ranger District. The trail is 11 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 1,942 feet, and it rises from a low point of 4,518 feet to a high of 7,165 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is rated expert. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows both horses and bikes. It is open year-round, and the trip is best planned for summer, when typical July averages at the nearby Deadwood Lodge weather station run to a high of 82°F and a low of 40°F. That station sits about 1,200 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. Several other hikes lie close by, including Granite Basin and Scott Mountain, each about 1.4 miles away, and Onion Valley at 4.1 miles. For an overnight stay, Deadwood Lookout Rec Cabin is about 5.6 miles off.
