Training Wheels is an easy out-and-back hike of about 1.9 miles in the Teton Basin Ranger District of Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises about 110 feet from a low point of 6,443 feet to a high of 6,547 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 78°F with lows in the mid-40s, while winter highs stay near 27°F. The trail is open to both horses and bikes. Dude Creek lies just 0.1 mile away, and Southbound is about 1.2 miles off. Idaho Mine and Twin Creek are within about 3 miles.
