Spring Creek is a 13.7-mile out-and-back hike in Idaho's Sawtooth National Recreation Area, part of the Sawtooth National Forest. The trail rises from a low point of 7,117 feet to a high of 7,822 feet, a climb of 331 feet one way, and is managed by the Forest Service. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Stanley show July and August highs around 80°F with lows near 39°F and only five or six wet days a month. That station sits about 1,300 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. The route is rated hard. It is a natural-surface trail, and bikes are allowed. The trailhead sits about 0.1 mile from the Rip And Tear mountain biking area and the Westernhome Glade Loop ski route. Chemeketan Campground is about 5.7 miles away, and the Salmon River is about 6.2 miles off.
