Scenic Lake is a hard hike in Idaho's Sawtooth Wilderness, part of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area within the Sawtooth National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is an out-and-back of about 7 miles, with a one-way climb of roughly 1,800 feet from a low point near 6,500 feet to a high point around 8,400 feet. The trail is natural-surface and does not allow bikes. The hike starts and ends in the wilderness, so plan for a full day. The Neinmeyer Creek-Johnson Creek and Black Warrior hikes both lie within about a mile and a half, and Browns Lake is about 1.8 miles away. For an overnight base, Graham Cabin is about 5 miles off.
