Poverty Overlook Interpretive is a short, easy loop hike in the Krassel Ranger District of Idaho's Payette National Forest, about half a mile long and rated easy. The trail rises about 53 feet from a low point of roughly 5,100 feet to a high of about 5,157 feet, and it is a loop, so you return to your starting point. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Yellowpine weather station show July and August highs around 87°F with only about five or six wet days a month, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. Bikes are allowed on this trail, but it is not an accessible route. Poverty Flat campground sits about 3.2 miles away, and the Four Mile and Blackmare Creek hikes are both within about 3 miles. Paddlers can reach the South Fork Salmon River about 5.6 miles off.
