Mosquito Ridge is a hard hike in Idaho's Payette National Forest, within the Krassel Ranger District. The trail is an out-and-back that climbs from about 5,600 feet to nearly 9,000 feet, with a total elevation gain of 2,868 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is open year-round with a parking area named Mosquito Ridge. The route is natural-surface and allows horses, but bikes are not permitted. That makes it a good fit for riders on horseback or on foot, and the climb is a significant one, so plan for a full day on the trail. Pueblo Summit lies about 2 miles away, and Beaver Creek and South Fork Chamberlain Creek are each roughly 4 miles off. Crane Meadows is about 5 miles away.
