Gibson-Dry is a short, easy out-and-back hike in Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest, within the Westside Ranger District. The trail is about a mile long, and the round trip climbs roughly 1,200 feet from a starting point near 6,178 feet to a high point of about 6,200 feet. The route is rated easy, and the Forest Service manages the land. The trail is natural-surfaced and open year-round, and it allows both horses and bikes. The steepest stretch comes early, with a grade of about 35% at around 0.16 miles in. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Pocatello show July highs near 89°F and lows around 57°F, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days. Trail Creek Connector and Rna Trail both lie within a mile, and Slate Mountain is about 1.3 miles away. For an overnight stay, Mink Creek Group Site Campground is about 3.7 miles off.
