Fish Lake is a 4-mile out-and-back hike in Idaho's Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness, on the Middle Fork Ranger District of the Salmon-Challis National Forest. The trail climbs from about 7,023 feet to 8,297 feet, a gain of 1,242 feet, and is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is open year-round. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows horses, but bikes are not permitted. That makes it a good fit for a horseback trip or a day on foot with a pack. Several other hikes lie within a few miles. Beaver-Trail Creek is about 3 miles away, and Cabin-Pioneer Creek is about 3.7 miles off. Crimson Lake Trail and Winnemucca Creek are each roughly 4.8 miles away.
