East Fork Palisades Creek is a 4.7-mile out-and-back hike in Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest, within the Palisades Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is rated moderate, with a one-way climb of about 530 feet from a low point of 6,607 feet to a high of 7,139 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows both horses and bikes, so it works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. The route is short enough to fit into a day, and the climb is steady rather than steep. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Jackson, Wyoming, show July highs around 79°F with lows near 41°F, and snow is common from November through April. That station sits about 900 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. North Fork Palisades Creek and Ice Cove both start about 0.1 mile away, and Corral Canyon is about 0.7 mile off. For an overnight, Trail Creek campground is about 5.6 miles away.
