Deer Point is a 4.1-mile out-and-back hike in Idaho's Boise National Forest, within the Mountain Home Ranger District. The trail rises about 688 feet from a low point of 6,229 feet to a high of 6,919 feet, and it is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced and open from May 1 through October 31. Bikes are allowed, so the trail works for hikers and riders alike. The climb is steady, and the route makes a good base for exploring the surrounding area, which has plenty to pair with a day on foot or on two wheels. The Up Hill Skin Track and the Bogus Creek Loop sit just 0.1 mile away, and the Sunshine XC mountain biking trail is about 0.3 mile off. Climbers can head to Bogus Boulders, roughly half a mile from the trail.
