Centerline is an easy hike on Bureau of Land Management land in the Shoshone Field Office in Idaho, about 2 miles from the town of Ketchum. The route is an out-and-back, roughly 2 miles long, with a total elevation gain of about 18 feet, so it's a flat walk that pairs easily with other outings in the area. The most comfortable time to go is summer. Typical averages from the nearby Ketchum weather station run to highs around 80°F in July and August, with lows in the mid-40s. Winters there are cold and snowy, with January highs near 31°F and about nine snowy days. The trail sits close to several other outings. The Bulldog hike and the Two Dog mountain biking route are both about a tenth of a mile away, and Wilson Gulch is about half a mile off. Climbers can find the Knob Hill climbing area about 3.5 miles away.
