Bulldog is a moderate out-and-back hike on Bureau of Land Management land in the Shoshone Field Office of Idaho, about 6.6 miles long with a 755-foot elevation gain. It rises from a low point of 5,862 feet to a high of 6,421 feet, so plan for a climb of roughly 750 feet over the course of the round trip. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Ketchum put July highs around 80°F with lows in the mid-40s, and snow is common from November through April. Several other outings sit within a short distance. The Centerline hike and the Bull Dog mountain biking route are each about 0.1 mile away, and Wilson Gulch is about 0.6 mile off. Climbers can head to Knob Hill, about 3.5 miles away.
