Boulder Creek is a hard hike in Idaho's Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness, on the Krassel Ranger District of the Payette National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced. It is about 7.4 miles long, with a total climb of about 4,118 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 3.4 miles in, where the grade reaches 26%. The route is an out-and-back, starting and ending at roughly 7,776 feet. The high point is about 7,782 feet, and the low point is about 5,973 feet. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. Crane Meadows sits just 0.1 mile away, and South Fork Chamberlain Creek and Beaver Creek are both within about 2.3 miles. Chamberlain Basin campground is about 9.2 miles off.
