Big Trinity Lake is an easy out-and-back hike in Idaho's Boise National Forest, within the Mountain Home Ranger District. The route is about a mile long and gains roughly 200 feet in elevation, from a low point of 7,785 feet to a high of 8,014 feet. The trail is natural-surface and allows bikes, and the Forest Service manages the land. The trail starts at the Upper Roaring River Trailhead, and the trip works all year round. For a longer outing, Rainbow Basin is just 0.3 miles away, and Big Trinity Cabin and Big Roaring River Lake Campground are both within half a mile. Green Island Lake is about a mile off.
