Beaver-Trail Creek is a hard hike in Idaho's Salmon-Challis National Forest, on the Middle Fork Ranger District. The trail is about 14.7 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 1,960 feet, and it rises from a low point of about 5,800 feet to a high of about 7,940 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced and open to horses. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Stanley, which sits about 1,400 feet lower, show July and August highs around 80°F with only five or six wet days a month. Winter is cold, with January highs near 29°F and lows around 4°F. The trail is open year-round. Horse Ladder lies about half a mile away, and Mayfield Creek offers canoeing about 1.5 miles off. Tin Cup Campground is about 4.4 miles away, and Blue Lake is about 4 miles away.
