Above the Brick Wall is a bouldering area in north Georgia, set within the Chattooga River Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests and on the Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area. The State Department of Natural Resources manages the land. The area sits right next to the Brick Wall climbing area, and the Slab Area and The Small Wall are also about 0.1 mile away. That makes it easy to pair with other bouldering in the same cluster. The climbing here is all bouldering, with seven routes ranging from V0 to V3. The easiest is Does Jesus Have a Compass? at V0, and the hardest is One Dead Tree at V3. The names are as colorful as the grades, with routes like Jesus Watches Over Me and Yup, It's a Penile Bone of a Raccoon. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Toccoa show October highs around 74°F with lows near 51°F, and April is similar at about 73°F and 49°F. Summer runs hotter, with July highs near 89°F. Lake Russell Campground is about 7.5 miles away for anyone planning an overnight stay.
