Cloudland Canyon is a short, easy hike in Cloudland Canyon State Park in northwest Georgia, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The route is a point-to-point walk of about 1.6 miles, with a low point of 1,823 feet and a high of 1,892 feet. The climb is gentle, with a total gain of 47 feet and a steepest stretch of about 2% at roughly 0.6 miles in. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 67°F with lows near 51°F, and April highs around 68°F. That station sits about 218 feet higher than the trail, so temperatures on the canyon floor run a little warmer. The hike takes about half an hour, and the trail is open year-round. Bikes are allowed. Pathkiller and the Two-Mile Backcountry Trail both start about 0.3 miles away, and the Meadowlands Trail is about half a mile off. Paddlers can find Sitton Gulch Creek about 2.7 miles away.
