West Rim Loop Trail is a 3.4-mile moderate hike in Cloudland Canyon State Park in northwest Georgia, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The trail is an out-and-back, and the round trip covers about 6.8 miles with a total elevation gain of 418 feet. The route starts at roughly 1,749 feet and reaches a high point of about 1,939 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 0.29 miles in, where the grade reaches 15%. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 74°F and October highs around 67°F, with September and October seeing the fewest wet days of the year. Several other trails sit close by. Overlook Trail is about 0.1 mile away and Sitton's Gulch Trail about 0.2 mile. Walk-In Campsite Trail and Meadowlands Trail are each about half a mile off.
