Pancake Boulder is a bouldering area in Connecticut, about 1.6 miles from the town of Higganum. It sits among a cluster of climbing and hiking spots, with Seven Falls Trail just 0.1 mile away and Bible Rock 0.2 mile off. The area is a compact, close-to-town destination for climbers who want to boulder on a short trip. The bouldering here is all on the V scale, with six routes ranging from V0- to V3. Syrup is the easiest at V0-, and Slapjack Traverse is the hardest at V3. Pancake Arete and Low Traverse are both V1. The names of the routes, including Pancake Arete, hint at the boulders' shape and the setting. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Meriden run to highs around 70°F in May and 75°F in September, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. Other climbing is close by, including Seven Falls Bouldering and the Powerline Area, both about 0.4 mile away. For a longer outing, Higganum Creek offers canoeing about 1.8 miles off.
