Eastern Coastal Slope is a climbing area in Connecticut, about a mile from the town of Four Corners. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots and trails, making it an easy addition to a day spent exploring the surrounding area. The area offers a range of climbing styles, with eight routes in total. Three are top rope, three are trad, and two are sport. Grades run from 5.6 up to 5.12-, with Borderline at 5.10 and Fifty Shades of Grey at 5.11a as two of the more notable climbs. The Thresher, a top rope route at 5.8-, was first climbed by James Wagner. For a change of pace, the Richard H. Goodwin Trail lies about 3.3 miles away, and the 100 Acre Wood climbing area is about 4.1 miles off. Paddlers can head to the East Branch Eightmile River, roughly 4.7 miles away, and Nehantic State Forest is about 4.9 miles away.
