White Pond Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 0.75 miles long and rising about 119 feet from start to finish. It is a point-to-point route, and the climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.1 mile in. The trail starts at roughly 314 feet and reaches a high point of about 340 feet before descending back to a low of about 242 feet. The nearest town is Killingworth, about 1.7 miles away. The trail is also close to several other outdoor spots. Chatfield Hollow Main Wall, a climbing area, sits just 0.1 mile away, and Deep Woods Trail is about 0.3 mile off. Nature Trail and Chimney Trail are both within about half a mile. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Mt Carmel show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, with July the warmest month at about 85°F. That station sits about 160 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. The trip takes about half an hour, and the route is rated easy.
