White Furlough Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about half a mile long and rising just 10 feet from its low point of 425 feet to a high of 446 feet. It is a point-to-point route, and the steepest stretch comes early on, at about 0.18 miles in, with a grade of 9 percent. The trail sits roughly 0.6 miles from West Redding, the nearest town. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Danbury show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 74°F, with July the warmest month at about 82°F. Several other trails start close by. Saul's Loop and Jamice's Loop are each about 0.1 miles away, and the McCormack Blue Trail is about 0.3 miles off. Climbers can find Sativa Slab about 2.3 miles away.
