Road Runner Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about half a mile long and rising roughly 70 feet from start to finish. It is a point-to-point route, with the high point at about 495 feet and the low at about 400 feet, and the steepest stretch comes early on, around 0.16 miles in, with a grade of about 11 percent. The nearest town is Spring Hill, about a mile away. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Storrs run from highs around 76°F in June to about 73°F in September, with July the warmest at about 80°F. Winters are cold, with January highs near 35°F. The trail sits among several other short routes. Barrows Trail is about 0.1 mile away and Tamarack Trail about 0.2 mile. Juniper Trail is about 0.3 mile off. Climbers can find the Upper Tier area about a mile away.
