Notch Hill Brook Red Trail is a short, looped hike of about a mile in southern Connecticut, roughly a mile from North Branford. The route is easy, with a total elevation gain of 141 feet and a low point of 68 feet. It runs in a loop, with the start and end at about 142 feet. Summer is the warmest stretch for a visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in New Haven show July highs around 82°F with lows near 66°F, while September cools to highs of about 75°F. That station sits about 180 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run a bit cooler. The hike takes about half an hour. Kampmeyer Trail and Glacier Point Trail are both within about half a mile, and Totoket Trail is about 0.6 miles away. Climbers can find the Granite Road area about 2 miles off.
