Photo: ethan.long, CC BY-SA 2.0 (via Flickr)White Circle is an easy hike in Connecticut, about 1.6 miles from Leetes Island. It is a short, low-elevation outing, with a one-way climb of about 310 feet over a route of roughly 3.2 miles. The trail reaches a high point of 158 feet, and the steepest part comes around the 1.7-mile mark at a grade of about 11 percent. Summer is the warmest stretch for a walk. Typical averages from the nearby New Haven weather station put July highs around 82°F and lows near 66°F. That station sits about 155 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. The trail is close to other outings. Yellow Circle and the Westwoods (Cockaponset State Forest) climbing area are each about 0.2 miles away. Red Rectangle is under a mile off, and Spencers Creek Trail is about 1.1 miles away.
