Lone Pine Trail is a 4.1-mile point-to-point hike in Connecticut, about 2.5 miles from the town of Beaver Head Corner. The route rises from a low of 234 feet to a high of 713 feet, with a total elevation gain of 683 feet. The trail is rated easy, and the climb is spread out over the course of the hike, with the steepest stretch at about 3 miles in, where the grade reaches 34 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Meriden run to highs around 70°F in May and 75°F in September, and the station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. The hike takes about 1.5 hours. Cooks Lane Trail and North Slope are both within a mile, and the Mattabesett Trail is about 1.6 miles away. Paddlers can reach the Coginchaug River, about 3.2 miles off.
