Grandma Hall Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 1.4 miles from the town of Rockland. The route is a point-to-point walk of roughly 1.1 miles, with a low point of about 399 feet and a high of about 487 feet. The climb is flat overall, with a total gain of about 102 feet and a total loss of about 115 feet. The steepest stretch comes near the end, at about 0.95 miles, with a grade of about 4%. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Meriden run to highs around 70°F in May and 75°F in September, while July highs average about 84°F and January highs about 37°F. That station sits about 384 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. Several other trails start close by. Etzel Trail and Durham Trail are each about 0.8 miles away, and Mattabesett Trail is about 0.9 miles away. For paddling, the Hammonasset River is about 3.2 miles off.
