Carol and Polly's Path is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 0.3 miles long and rising about 40 feet from a low point of 583 feet to a high of 640 feet. It is a point-to-point route, and the climb is flat, with the steepest stretch at about 0.23 miles in, where the grade reaches 4 percent. The nearest town is Davidsons Corner, roughly a mile away. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mt Carmel show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, while July averages about 85°F. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the path run cooler. The Hein Hiking Trail is about half a mile away, and the Old Field Trail is about 1.2 miles off. Climbers can head to Hermit Boulders, about 1.7 miles away, and the Sargent River Trail is also about 1.7 miles from the path.
