East Brush Road is a cross-country skiing route in Colorado's Gunnison Ranger District, part of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route lies about a mile from the town of Crested Butte. The road climbs from a low point of 9,510 feet to a high of 9,873 feet over a distance of about a mile, with a total gain of 344 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.7 miles in, where the grade reaches 18 percent. Winter is the natural season for skiing here. Typical averages from the nearby Crested Butte weather station show January highs around 26°F with lows near -7°F, while July highs reach about 76°F. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet below the route, so temperatures on the road run cooler. Brush Creek Ski, a mountain biking trail, and Campsite BC 13 are both about 0.1 mile away.
