Arroyo is a short cross-country skiing route in Colorado's Grand Valley Ranger District, part of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is easy to reach, covering about half a mile from a low point of 10,593 feet to a high of 10,651 feet. The route is short and gentle. It rises about 52 feet over 0.54 miles, with a steeper stretch of 10% grade near the start. The overall climb is a small one, and the route is rated easy. Winter is the season for skiing here. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 26°F with lows near 6°F in January to highs around 49°F and lows near 27°F in May. That station sits several hundred feet below the route, so temperatures on the trail run slightly cooler. Spruce Grove Campground is about 1.3 miles away, and the mountain biking routes Skyway Ski Wills Hill and Lions are each about 0.2 miles off. Grand Mesa, about 3.8 miles away, offers pier fishing.
