Uncompahgre Gorge, also known as Ouray Ice Park, is a climbing area in the Ouray Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in Colorado. It sits about 0.1 mile from the Ouray Perimeter Trail, the Quartzite mountain biking area and the Camp Bird Mine Rd/Mountain Rescue Cache Crag climbing area, which makes it easy to pair with other outings in the Ouray area. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Ouray weather station show July highs around 79°F with lows near 53°F, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days from December through February. Four J Campground and Amphitheatre Campground are both within a mile, and Canyon Creek offers paddling about 2 miles away.
