The Ouray vicinity rock climbing area sits in the Ouray Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. It is a cluster of climbing spots in and around Ouray, with several named areas within a short distance of each other. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Ouray show July highs around 79°F with lows near 53°F, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days from December through February. Randall's Badger Sanctuary, also known as Spider Den, is about 0.3 miles away, and Overlook Cliff is about 0.4 miles off. The Sutton - Neosho hike and the Ouray Perimeter mountain biking trail are both within half a mile.
