The Bog is a bouldering area in the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas, with Prione about 0.3 miles away and Critical Mass Area about 0.5 miles away. The closest campground is Big Bend Campground, roughly 0.9 miles off. The climbing here is all bouldering, with five routes spread across the V5 to V11 range. Serpentine is V5-6, Watch your six is V5, Iron Helix and Simple are both V6, and Castaway is the hardest at V11. The area is best suited to climbers who enjoy bouldering on a single crag rather than a long approach. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Rustic, about 1.8 miles away, show July highs around 78°F with lows near 47°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s.
