Black Canyon of the Gunnison is a climbing area in Colorado's Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, within the Black Canyon of the Gunnison Wilderness. The National Park Service manages the land, and a fee is charged for entry. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 82°F with lows near 53°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. Several climbing areas sit close by, including South Rim Routes about half a mile away and Aretes and Guppy Gully within a mile. North Rim Campground is about a mile off for an overnight stay.
