Cedar Point Overlook is an easy, short hike in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, part of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison Wilderness in Colorado. The trail is an out-and-back with a round-trip length of about 0.34 miles and an elevation gain of 30 feet, so it is a quick stop rather than a full-day outing. The National Park Service manages the land, and a fee is charged. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July averages from a nearby weather station run to a high of 82°F and a low of 53°F, while winter highs there stay in the 30s. The overlook sits just 0.1 mile from the Black Canyon of the Gunnison climbing area, and Painted Wall Overlook lies 0.4 mile away. North Rim Campground is about 0.9 mile off, and the Chasm View Trail is a similar distance.
