South Bear Pen Gulch is a moderate out-and-back hike in the Ouray Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 5.6 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 878 feet, taking you from a low point of about 8,328 feet to a high of about 9,210 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows both horses and bikes. It is not an accessible trail. North Fork 47 lies about 1.6 miles away, and the 47 Trail Connector is about 2.2 miles off. For mountain biking, Love Mesa Road is about 1.9 miles away. Columbine Campground, about 7.7 miles away, offers a place to stay.
