Pete's Wicked Trail is a 5.8-mile out-and-back hike on natural surface in the Hahns Peak-Bears Ears Ranger District of Colorado's Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. It gains about 1,200 feet, from a low of 9,124 feet to a high of 10,369 feet, and the Forest Service manages the land. The route is rated moderate. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. A nearby weather station at 9,000 feet records typical July averages of 73°F for the high and 40°F for the low, and it sits roughly 1,300 feet below the trail's top. Winter there is cold, with typical highs around 30°F and lows near 3°F from December through February. The trail is open year-round, and bikes are allowed. Two other hikes, Duster and Sunshine, start just 0.1 mile away. Walton Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 2.4 miles off. For an overnight base, Meadows Campground is roughly 4.8 miles away.
