Mountain View is a 12.5-mile out-and-back hike in Colorado's Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, within the Hahns Peak-Bears Ears Ranger District. The trail climbs from about 9,800 feet to about 10,400 feet, with an elevation gain of 106 feet, and it is rated hard. The route lies on natural surface, and bikes are allowed. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is open year-round. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 73°F and lows near 40°F, though that station sits roughly 1,400 feet below the high point, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. The Storm Peak Challenge mountain biking route is about 0.4 miles away and Cathy's Cutoff is about 0.5 miles away. For climbing, Blob Rock is about 2.7 miles off, and Granite Campground is about 4.2 miles away.
