Mule Creek North is an easy, out-and-back hike of about 2.6 miles in the Pikes Peak Ranger District of the Pike and San Isabel National Forests in Colorado. The trail rises from a low point of 7,991 feet to a high of 8,098 feet, a climb of about 88 feet one way, and it is managed by the Forest Service. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows bikes, so it works for hikers and riders alike. The trailhead is named Mule Creek North Trailhead, and the parking is labeled MULE CREEK NORTH. The route is open year-round. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Florissant Fossil Bed show July highs around 79°F with lows near 42°F, while winter highs sit in the upper 30s. Red Rocks Group Campground and the Centennial Trail both lie about 0.1 mile away, and South Meadows Campground is about 1.5 miles off. Trout Creek, a canoeing spot, is roughly 3 miles away.
