Centennial is a moderate hike of about 7.4 miles on a paved trail in the Pikes Peak Ranger District of the Pike and San Isabel National Forests in Colorado. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is an out-and-back that gains about 334 feet in elevation, from a low point of 7,753 feet to a high of 8,141 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Florissant Fossil Bed weather station show July highs around 79°F with lows near 42°F, while winter highs stay in the upper 30s. Bikes are allowed on the paved surface. The Centennial Trail and Mule Creek North both start within a quarter mile, and Red Rocks Group Campground is about 0.2 miles away. South Meadows Campground sits roughly 1.4 miles off.
