Morrison Creek is an easy out-and-back hike in Colorado's Pike and San Isabel National Forests, within the South Platte Ranger District. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and runs about 4 miles, with a total elevation gain of 382 feet from a low point of 7,029 feet to a high of 7,522 feet. The route is natural-surface and allows horses, and it is not an accessible trail. It stays open year-round, so you can plan a trip any time of year. Summer is the most comfortable season. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Bailey, CO, show July highs around 79°F with lows near 44°F, while winter highs there sit in the upper 30s.
