Little Fish is a short, easy out-and-back hike of about a mile in Colorado's Comanche Peak Wilderness, within the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. The route gains about 290 feet in elevation, from a low point near 8,117 feet to a high point around 8,403 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail's natural surface makes it a straightforward walk. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs in the mid-60s to mid-70s from June through August, with July the warmest at about 74°F. That station sits roughly 1,100 feet lower than the trail's high point, so expect temperatures on the route to run a bit cooler. The trail is open year-round, and horses are allowed. Bikes are not. Fish Creek lies about 0.4 miles away, and Pingree Park Road, a climbing area, is about 0.7 miles off. For an overnight stay, Jacks Gulch Campground is about 1.5 miles away, and the South Fork Cache la Poudre River, a paddling spot, is about 0.8 miles away.
