Granada-Ft. Union Military is an easy, 2.7-mile out-and-back hike on natural surface in the Comanche Ranger District of the Pike and San Isabel National Forests in Colorado. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is about 2.7 miles long with a total elevation gain of 16 feet, so it's a short walk with almost no climb. The trail is open to both horses and bikes, which makes it a flexible choice for riders and riders on horseback. The route starts and ends at roughly 5,745 feet, with the high point at about 5,784 feet. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall.
