Visit a historic chimney along the Boca Trail! The remains of an old picnic area and campground, the chimney is made of basalt lava rock from the surrounding area. Nearby, past a gambel oak thicket, is another collapsed lava tube. This lava tube formed when the molten lava flowing over the landscape formed a hard thick crust on top. When the molten lava emptied from the lava tube, the hardened lava rock on the roof collasped into the open space.<br /> <br /> Please do <strong>NOT </strong>climb on the chimney as it is very fragile.
