Crested Butte Mountain Summit is an easy hike of about 1.6 miles on a natural-surface trail in the Gunnison Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in Colorado. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is an out-and-back that gains about 738 feet, from a low point of roughly 11,442 feet to a high of about 12,146 feet. The trail is rated easy, and it is not open to bikes or horses. That makes it a straightforward walk for anyone heading up from the lower end of the route. Several other outdoor spots sit within a mile of the summit. Happy Hour and Skyland Boulders are both about 0.9 miles away, and Battleship Boulder is about a mile off. For an overnight stay, Brush Creek Camping Area is about 2.3 miles away.
