Arapaho Pass is a hard hike in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, part of the Sulphur Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests in Colorado. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is a natural-surface out-and-back that climbs from about 8,357 feet to about 11,950 feet over roughly 18.5 miles. The route is rated hard, and the one-way gain is about 3,511 feet. The pass sits within designated wilderness, and the trail is open to horses. That makes it a viable option for riders as well as hikers. The Arapaho Pass Spur lies about 0.3 miles away, and the Cascade Creek hike is about 0.8 miles off. For an overnight base, Arapaho Bay Campground is about 2 miles away, and Arapaho Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 2.3 miles away.
