Middle Fork Cimarron Dispersed is a dispersed camping area in the Ouray Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. The nearest town is Portland, about 12 miles away. There is no fee to camp here. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Lake City show July highs around 77°F with lows near 44°F, while winter highs stay around freezing. Several other spots sit close by. The Waterfall hike is under a mile away, and East Fork Dispersed and Cimarron Forks Camping Area are both within about 2 miles. Climbers can head to the Uncompahgre/Big Blue Wilderness, roughly 4.5 miles off.
