Denver Creek Campground is a first-come, first-served Forest Service site in the Willow Creek Valley along US Highway 125, within the Sulphur Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. The campground sits on both sides of the highway, with Willow Creek running by the west loop. It has 22 non-electric sites that fit tents, trailers and RVs, each with a tent pad, fire grate and picnic table. Most campsites lack shade, and the facilities include restrooms, trash service and drinking water. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Grand Lake show July highs around 76°F with lows near 40°F, while winter brings highs around 30°F and frequent snow days from December through February. Fishing in Willow Creek, scenic driving, hiking and wildlife viewing are all popular here. The closest trails are Little Gravel Mountain Spur, about 0.8 miles away, and Kauffman Creek, about 1.1 miles away. Sawmill Gulch Campground is about 2.2 miles off, and paddlers can reach Willow Creek, about 3.2 miles away.
